NCD Process - The 3 Color Spiral

A simple cycle
The 3 Color Spiral is based on a cycle of practical actions that help ground the phases of information, application and transformation. As you can see, the terms of the Cycle need little explanation, as they are common expressions of the sorts of things we do in daily life. The important point though is that every single stage of the Cycle reflects central biblical principles of fruitfulness. In other words, it is really not our choice whether or not we want to implement these principles. The biblical teaching on all six stages is crystal clear—they are not optional, but mandatory.
Such a simple yet comprehensive process allows the Cycle to become a natural, unobtrusive part of every activity in church life. In the context of this workbook, this can begin by applying it to the 6-monthly or yearly process of developing the overall quality of your church – each cycle punctuated by the NCD Survey as part of the Test stage.
Spiraling upward toward fullness of life
As you repeat cycle after cycle - each time more fully carrying out the principles that the stages represent - you move outward and upward toward a fuller experience of God and of life. In practical terms this upward spiral represents more and better disciples, more and better leaders, more and better answers to the needs of the world and more and better expressions of the church around the world. This is the reality for churches that have applied the stages of the Cycle over time. They have worked on the quality of their church and God has brought the growth (CYW p.190) As Jesus said: healthy branches produce healthy fruit and in greater quantities. On the basis of the countless stories and statistics verifying the fruitfulness of the NCD process, we welcome you to one of the most creative, practical and mentally stimulating journeys you've ever been on - all the way to the heart of God.
Let's move to the Perceive phase.
